the love theives is a slow number, i love the pedal steel guitar solo. it s so beautiful. love will be the death of my lonely soul brothers, but their spirit shall live on in, the heart of all lovers. is it refer to kurt cobain and richey manics. you translate the song so well. actually this album start from dark, end from bright, it s like you can see a tunnel of light.i always wish depeche mode will tour the ultra album . because songs of faith and devotional tour i cant catch up. also depeche mode should end the 90s with a summary like 101 to 80s
"The Love Thieves" is one of Martin's best lyrical pieces. I'm not sure if Martin would refer to Cobain or Richey James since Dave seems to be the one who's more interested in their contemporary rock music scene, but I can be wrong.
"Ultra" does end on an optimistic note. Considering what the band had been through, such optimism is genuine and unbearably moving. I never thought about a world tour for the band close the 90s until you mentioned it. I'm satisfied with 101, though. The momentum of 101 only occurred once in their career, and that's what's so special about it.
actually , all the dm albums arr dark ,but the are genuinely bright just like insight,higher love, pimpf. considering what the band had been through is ti refer to david s drug problem, alan wilder s departure.?i mention it because i believe depeche mode are able to tour the ultra at least one night. just like the black celebration tour, world violation tour, devotional tour all are good tour. also devotional tour are no worse than101. actually, you can treat the singles tour as ultra tour
but maybe because david s health so they cant tour, just imagine violator, songs of faith and devotion, ultra join together after101
Well, that's true. The setlist would've been amazing. Ultra songs don't make it onto their setlists anymore other than "Home," sadly.
