Last FM-- My new love!

Last FM-- http://www.last.fm

(My Weekly Top 10, My Overall Top 10)

The thing is... you never know.

People Are People

Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867)

"Crowds"

It is not given to every man to take a bath of multitude; enjoying a crowd is an art; and only he can relish a debauch of vitality at the expense of the human species, on whom, in his cradle, a fairy has bestowed the love of masks and masquerading, the hate of home, and the passion for roaming.

Multitude, solitude: identical terms, and interchangeable by the active and fertile poet. The man who is unable to people his solitude is equally unable to be alone in a bustling crowd.

The poet enjoys the incomparable privilege of being able to be himself of someone else, as he chooses. Like those wandering souls who go looking for a body, he enters as he likes into each man's personality. For him alone everything is vacant; and if certain places seem closed to him, it is only because in his eyes they are not worth visiting.

The solitary and thoughtful stroller finds a singular intoxication in this universal communion. The man who loves to lose himself in a crowd enjoys feverish delights that the egoist locked up in himself as in a box, and the slothful man like a mollusk in his shell, will be eternally deprived of. He adopts as his own all the occupations, all the joys and all the sorrows that chance offers.

What men call love is a very small, restricted, feeble thing compared with this ineffable orgy, this divine prostitution of the soul giving itself entire, all it poetry and all its charity, to the unexpected as it comes along, to the stranger as he passes.

It is a good thing sometimes to teach the fortunate of this world, if only to humble for an instant their foolish pride, that there are higher joys than theirs, finer and more uncircumscribed. The founders of colonies, shepherds of peoples, missionary priests exiled to the ends of the earth, doubtlessly know something of this mysterious drunkenness; and in the midst of the vast family created by their genius, they must often laugh at those who pity them because of their troubled fortunes and chaste lives.

Musicmatch Jukebox

http://www.musicmatch.com/

Depeche Mode--Black Celebration

To put it simply, let's have a black celebration tonight.

Let's have a black celebration
Black celebration
Tonight

To celebrate the fact
That we've seen the back
Of another black day

I look to you
How you carry on
When all hope is gone
Can't you see

Your optimistic eyes
Seem like paradise
To someone like
Me

I want to take you
In my arms
Forgetting all I couldn't do today

Black celebration
Black celebration
Tonight

To celebrate the fact
That we've seen the back
Of another black day

I look to you
And your strong belief
Me, I want relief
Tonight

Consolation
I want so much
Want to feel your touch
Tonight

Take me in your arms
Forgetting all you couldn't do today

Black celebration
I'll drink to that
Black celebration
Tonight

Cleopatra

Edit:

Depeche Mode--It Doesn't Matter

(If You Love Somebody) Set Them Free"說的是差不多的東西,可是聽(讀)起來卻太有傳教意味了。

I am happy
That I have you
Even though you're not here now
I know somewhere
You are dreaming
Though it's definitely not of me

It doesn't matter
If all this shatters
Nothing lasts forever
But I'm praying
That we're staying
Together

I am warmed
By your friendship
Even when you're far away
And I'm happy
In the knowledge
We may never see the day

When I kiss you
And you kiss me
Don't pretend you miss me
The worst kind
Of diseased mind
Is one filled with jealousy

If we should meet again
Don't try to solve the puzzle
Just lay down next to me
And please don't move a muscle

I will thank you
Most of all for
The respect you have for me
I'm embarrassed
It overwhelms me
Because I don't deserve any

Milan Kundera

DM-- The Things You Said

Martin這首歌寫的就是聽到別人談論自己的心情,ah, so bitter and sad...

I heard it from my friends
About the things you said
I heard it from my friends
About the things you said
But they know me better than that
They know me better than that
They know my weaknesses
I never tried to hide them
They know my weaknesses
I never denied them

I heard it from my friends
About the things you said
I heard it from my friends
About the things you said
How can a view become so twisted
How can a view become so twisted
They know my weaknesses
I never tried to hide them
They know my weaknesses
You tried them

I get so carried away
You brought me down to earth
I thought we had something precious
Now I know what it's worth

I heard it from my friends
About the things you said
I heard it from my friends
About the things you said
I've never felt so disappointed
Never felt so disappointed
They know my weaknesses
I never tried to hide them
They know my weaknesses
Thought that you liked them

They know me better than that

DM--World Full of Nothing

說到"sensuality",就讓我想起了Depeche Mode的一首歌"World Full of Nothing",是由Martin唱的(耶!)。

DM-- A Question of Time

這不禁讓我想起一些Depeche Mode的歌,特別是"A Question of Time"。

I've got to get to you first 我一定要在他們之前
Before they do 先得到妳
It's just a question of time 只是時間早晚的問題
Before they lay their hands on you 他們會對妳下手
And make you just like the rest
I've got to get to you first 我必須先得到妳
It's just a question of time 只是時間早晚的問題

Well now you're only fifteen
And you look good 而且長得漂亮
I'll take you under my wing
They've persuasive ways
And you'll believe what they say

It's just a question of time 只是時間早晚的問題
It's running out for you 不斷逼近妳
It won't be long 不久之後
Until you do 妳就會去做
Exactly what they want you to 他們希望妳做的事

I can see them now Hanging around
To mess you up 玷污妳
To strip you down 侵犯妳
And have their fun
With my little one 同樂

It's just a question of time 只是時間早晚的問題
It's running out for you 不斷逼近妳

It won't be long 不久之後
Until you do 妳就會去做
Exactly what they want you to 他們希望妳做的事

It won't be long 不久之後
Until you do 妳就會去做
Exactly what they want you to 他們希望妳做的事

Sometimes I don't blame them 有時候我無法責怪他們
For wanting you 對妳不懷好意
You look good 妳長得漂亮
And they need something to do 他們也需要目標
Until I look at you 直到我見到妳
And then I condemn them 我譴責他們這種行為
I know my kind
What goes on in our minds

It's just a question of time 只是時間早晚的問題
It should be better
It's just a question of time 只是時間早晚的問題
It should be better with you 和妳在一起會很美好
It's just a question of time 只是時間早晚的問題

The Unbearable Lightness of Being",就一直對他的作品無法忘懷,好像有種使命,非多讀幾本不可。

Judas--Depeche Mode

Is simplicity best
Or simply the easiest
The narrowest path
Is always the holiest
So walk on barefoot for me
Suffer some misery
If you want my love
If you want my love

Man will survive
The harshest conditions
And stay alive
Through difficult decisions
So make up your mind for me
Walk the line for me
If you want my love
If you want my love

Idle talk
And hollow promises
Cheating Judases
Doubting Thomases
Don't just stand there and shout it
Do something about it

You can fulfill
Your wildest ambitions
And I'm sure you will
Lose your inhibitions
So open yourself for me
Risk your health for me
If you want my love
If you want my love
If you want my love
If you want my love
